Grankite Order of Tactics: Created to honor Admiral
Robert April after the battle of Grank IV during the Four
Years War the Grankite Order recognizes success in the arena
of naval combat tactics beyond any reasonable expectation.
It is awarded in three classes; Nova, Excellence, and
General. Nova is awarded to fleet commanders, Excellence
to commanders of warp capable vessels and General to
commanders of non-warp capable vessels (including fighters

Legion of Honor: The Legion of Honor is awarded to all
members of the Armed Forces of the United Federation of
Planets without reference to degree for exceptionally
meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding
services and achievements. The performance must have been
such as to merit recognition of key individuals for service
rendered in a clearly exceptional manner. Performance of
duties normal to the grade, branch, specialty or assignment,
and experience of an individual is not an adequate basis for
this award. For service not related to actual war the term
"key individual" applies to a narrower range of positions
than in time of war and requires evidence of significant
achievement. In peacetime, service should be in the nature
of a special requirement or of an extremely difficult duty
performed in an unprecedented and clearly exceptional
manner. However, justification of the award may accrue by
virtue of exceptionally meritorious service in a succession
of important positions. |

Medal of Honor: The Supreme Assembly Medal of Honor is
awarded to a person who, while a
member of the armed forces of the United Federation of
Planets, distinguishes himself conspicuously by
bravery and valor at the risk of his life above and beyond
the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy
of the Federation; while engaged in military operations
involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. The deed
performed must have been one of personal bravery or
self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the
individual above his comrades and must have involved risk of
life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service
will be exacted. |

Karagite Order of Heroism: Awarded to any person who,
while serving in any capacity with the Armed Forces of the
United Federation of Planets, distinguishes himself by
heroism or extraordinary achievement. The performance of the
act of heroism must be evidenced by voluntary action above
and beyond the call of duty. The extraordinary achievement
must have resulted in an accomplishment so exceptional and
outstanding as to clearly set the individual apart from his

or extraordinary achievement and will not be made in
recognition of sustained operational activities against an

the Legion of Honor must nevertheless have been meritorious
and accomplished with distinction. |

 |
Starfleet Cross: Awarded to any person who, while
serving with the Starfleet or its Marine Corps,
distinguishes himself in action by extraordinary heroism not
justifying an award of the Medal of Honor. The action must
take place under one of three circumstances: while engaged
in action against an enemy of the United Federation of
Planets; while engaged in military operations involving
conflict with an opposing foreign force; or, while serving
with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict in
which the United Federation of Planets is not a belligerent
party. To earn a Starfleet Cross the act to be commended
must be performed in the presence of great danger or at
great personal risk and must be performed in such a manner
as to render the individual highly conspicuous among others
of equal grade, rate, experience, or position of
responsibility. An accumulation of minor acts of heroism
does not justify an award of the Starfleet Cross. |

duty of lesser though considerable responsibility. |

will SSM be awarded as an impact award for outstanding
achievement. The SSM is specifically intended to recognize
exceptionally superior service, and to honor an individual's
