Terrorist Groups

Several StarTrek Episodes have dealt with Terrorists. There are the Ansata (TNG: High Ground), a group of murderous separatists from Rutia IV who bear more than a little resemblance to the jihadists of the PLO and its sattelite groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad. We have also seen Orion terrorists try to disrupt a Babel Conference (TOS: Journey to Babel). Another, unnamed terror group (I've called them the People's Armed Forces or PAF), attempts to steal high energy Baryons from the Enterprise in (TNG: Starship Mine).

With the current state of the world, it may be worthwhile to examine terrorism and the best way to respond to it in science fictional settings. Here are few canonical and semi-canonical terror groups to get you started.
