Triangle SectorThe Triangle Sector is a region of space where the Federation, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire, borders intersect. In this region there are several polities, some allied to one or another of the Great Powers while others pursue an independent course. The Triangle was originally published as a setting for FASA's version of Star Trek: The RPG. This version has little in common with the FASA product. The planets are described in real terms so they can be used with any version of the ST:RPG. The reference date for this material is 2300-2350, the period after the Star Trek Movies but before ST:TNG. The specific time is the period leading up to the Great War (2340-2344) This gives us a 40 year window, that's a lot of time to have adventures in and best of all, there's been very little written about this period so we are relatively free of canon issues. The Klingon Empire is in a state of rapid political change, the Romulans have entered a period of extreme isolationism and quiet expansionism seeking resources to prosecute a war on the far side of the Empire. As trade and exploration expands, piracy becomes a growing threat. Several adventures should deal with anti-piracy and suppression of Orion terrorism. |
